His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, today inaugurated the Control and Surveillance Center at Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim. The center was inaugurated in the presence of His Excellency Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and a number of officials from the region. His Royal Highness the Governor of Qassim Region reviewed the readiness of the center, which is one of the pillars of the National Integrated Airport Security and Protection Project, a project aimed at developing aviation security and airport security infrastructure. This project includes the construction and upgrading of control and surveillance centers at all airports with the latest electronically interconnected security systems. This will provide operational and security services that contribute to taking the right steps to manage incidents, issue warnings, and disseminate information in a short period of time. The center is distinguished by its rapid transmission of reports to all relevant operational and security agencies, ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to manage incidents and issue warnings in a short period of time. It also uses artificial intelligence to resolve and follow up on alarms, contributing to reducing reliance on human resources. It also supports the concept of joint security work, which contributes to the distribution of roles and effective coordination to reduce and shorten the time required to complete procedures and tasks. His Highness the Governor of Qassim Region expressed his happiness with the readiness of the Monitoring and Control Center at Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz International Airport, which represents a key pillar of the Integrated National Project for Airport Security and Protection. He considered this achievement an extension of the great support provided by the leadership—may God support them—to enhance the security infrastructure and improve the efficiency of the safety system at the Kingdom's airports. His Highness emphasized that the advanced equipment and electronically interconnected systems he saw reflect the commitment of the relevant authorities to adopting the highest technical and operational standards, ensuring rapid response, accurate decision-making, and the protection of lives and assets. He asked God to grant everyone success in serving the nation and enhancing its security and stability. It is worth noting that the Integrated National Project for Airport Security and Protection is one of the most important comprehensive security projects at the level of the Kingdom's airports, encompassing 24 airports with the aim of providing them with the latest electronically integrated security systems. The project includes the rehabilitation and development of infrastructure, the establishment of security operations and control centers in all airports, the establishment, rehabilitation and equipping of security gates leading to the apron and guard rooms, the installation of entry and exit control systems and surveillance cameras for the security gates and a ground surveillance radar system for the airport perimeter with thermal and digital cameras, in addition to tracking vehicles within the airport apron, the rehabilitation of the surrounding security fence and the parallel patrol road, the implementation of a separate infrastructure for security systems, in addition to the rehabilitation and training of human cadres to operate and manage these facilities with the highest efficiency.
