The Buraidah Date Carnival, organized by the National Center for Palms and Dates, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, and under the supervision of the Emirate of Qassim Region, kicked off today in the City of Dates in Buraidah. The event will continue until October 9. Farmers and traders will showcase more than 100 varieties of Qassim dates, including Sukkari, Barhi, and Saqai. The carnival includes various activities and events, including processing industries, productive families, palm-related handicrafts, heritage and poetry evenings, and the participation of folk groups. It also features a children's and drawing area, in addition to numerous events targeting various segments of society. It is worth noting that sales volume at the last edition of the Buraidah Date Carnival amounted to approximately 3.2 billion riyals, with an average of 2,000 vehicles transporting dates daily. Last year, the number of visitors to the carnival exceeded 800,000.
