His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, launched the “Safe Pedestrian Crossing” initiative, aimed at enhancing safety levels on roads and main streets and reducing run-over accidents by providing a safer traffic environment for pedestrians and raising traffic awareness among community members. His Highness affirmed that this initiative reflects the wise leadership’s—may God preserve it—commitment to protecting lives and property and enhancing quality of life. He emphasized the importance of integrated efforts among relevant entities to implement best practices in traffic safety and to develop infrastructure that supports safe pedestrian crossings. He explained that the initiative contributes to raising community awareness of safe crossing practices and supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in improving quality of life. He stressed the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and promoting shared responsibility to ensure everyone’s safety. The initiative includes the implementation of several preventive measures, most notably improving pedestrian crossing locations, increasing directional signage, and activating awareness campaigns, all of which aim to reduce traffic accidents and enhance safety on roads and streets across the region.
