His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, patronized the Diriyah Racecourse, the "Diriyah Cup," organized by the King Saud Equestrian Field in Qassim. The race included the Qassim Region Emirate Cup and His Highness's Cup, and was attended by a number of horse owners and equestrian enthusiasts. His Highness praised the excellent organization and high level of competition at the racecourse, emphasizing that the King Saud Equestrian Field in Qassim is one of the most prominent equestrian fields in the Kingdom. He cited its advanced facilities and contributions to supporting this time-honored sport, enhancing its cultural and sporting presence, and its role in discovering talent and developing the sector. The Governor of Qassim Region also commended the efforts of the field's director, Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri, appreciating his outstanding work in developing the field and improving the efficiency of race organization. His Highness also acknowledged the role of businessmen who support the field, affirming that their support has contributed to the continuity and success of these events. His Highness emphasized that equestrian sports are an integral part of the national heritage and enjoy significant support from the wise leadership – may God protect them – noting the importance of continuing to develop equestrian facilities and related events to enhance the Kingdom's standing in this field. At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Highness crowned the winners. The horse “Ta’meem,” owned by Majid Al-Shalaqi, won the Qassim Region Emirate Cup, while the horse “Dadan,” owned by Fahd Al-Owais, won the Prince Faisal bin Mishaal Guests Cup. The horse “Al-Mirqab,” owned by Omar Al-Marshoud, won the Diriyah Cup. These races were held over a distance of 2000 meters. This race is part of a series of events that promote equestrian sports in the region, support horse owners, and contribute to boosting sports and tourism activity in the Qassim region.
