His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, inaugurated the Qassim Cancer Awareness Conference, organized by the Balsam Association for Cancer Patient Support in Qassim, under the slogan “For an Aware and Cancer-Fighting Society.” The event was attended by His Highness Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Faisal bin Saad, Deputy Governor of Qassim Region, and Her Royal Highness Princess Haifa Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with the participation of experts, specialists, and those interested in health and awareness fields, at the King Khalid Cultural Center in Buraidah. Upon his arrival, His Highness toured the accompanying exhibition, which included various awareness and health booths, as well as workshops and educational programs offered to attendees and visitors. These initiatives aimed to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and early detection and to promote a culture of health regarding cancer. His Royal Highness the Prince of Qassim inaugurated the conference, emphasizing that such conferences represent an important humanitarian and health message that contributes to raising community awareness and promoting prevention. He pointed out that awareness and early detection are among the most important elements in combating cancer and reducing its health and social impacts. His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, chaired a meeting of the Qassim Region Water Sector System, in the presence of His Highness Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Faisal bin Saad, Deputy Governor of the Region. Also in attendance were Engineer Mohammed Al-Sheikh, Vice President for Partnerships and Local Content at the Saudi Water Authority, and several officials from relevant entities. During the meeting, His Highness reviewed a comprehensive presentation on the Kingdom's water sector system, the objectives of the National Water Strategy, and the efforts being made to enhance water security and the sustainability of water resources, in addition to the most prominent projects and future plans in the Qassim Region. The meeting also reviewed key indicators related to the water sector in the Qassim Region and the projects currently underway to improve the efficiency of water supply. The presentation included an overview of the Jubail-Buraidah Independent Water Conveyance Project, which aims to enhance the supply of desalinated water to the region, with a transmission capacity of up to 650,000 cubic meters per day and a pipeline length of 587 kilometers. The project is expected to be operational by 2029. His Royal Highness the Prince of Qassim emphasized the importance of continuing to develop water sector services, enhancing infrastructure efficiency, and promoting awareness initiatives to rationalize water consumption. The championship featured over 230 horses and drew a large crowd of horse owners and equestrian enthusiasts. His Highness the Governor of Qassim congratulated the winners of all the top prizes, stating: “I congratulate all the gold, silver, and bronze winners, and I commend the successful conclusion of this distinguished championship, which was exceptionally well-organized and attracted a remarkable audience, reflecting the prestige of this time-honored sport.” His Highness expressed his pride in the displays he witnessed, noting their contribution to developing the skills of both riders and horses.
