His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, honored 38 male and female students today, Thursday, at the Governorate headquarters in Buraidah, for winning the "Munafis" Award presented by the Ministry of Education. This award recognizes their excellence in several specialized fields that enhance their capabilities and meet the demands of the future. The awards encompassed entrepreneurship, future skills, innovation, scientific talent, and volunteer work, in addition to academic achievement and international assessments. This initiative reflects the Ministry of Education's commitment to motivating students to excel and be creative, and to developing their skills across various educational and academic disciplines. The total value of the prizes awarded to the winners exceeded half a million riyals. His Highness congratulated the winning students on this award, presented by the Ministry of Education to honor outstanding students. He noted that the award aims to promote the values of excellence and positivity among students at all grade levels in public education, praising this initiative which develops their skills and raises their academic achievement to reach their full potential. His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, chaired a meeting today at his office in the Governorate to follow up on a study of groundwater and surface water resources in the city of Buraidah. The meeting was attended by a number of officials and included a team from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, in cooperation with the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies at King Saud University in Riyadh. During the meeting, His Highness reviewed the details of the study, which analyzed the current state of water resources in the city. This analysis involved specialized geological, geophysical, and hydrological studies aimed at identifying groundwater and surface water sources, monitoring rainwater collection sites, analyzing their flow and accumulation points, and assessing their impact on the urban area of Buraidah. The study also explored ways to utilize these water resources and enhance their management efficiency to support water sustainability, reduce the risks associated with water accumulation, and achieve optimal use of rainwater. His Royal Highness the Prince of Qassim emphasized the importance of these specialized studies in supporting urban planning and decision-making, and in implementing recommendations to reduce water accumulation. His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, sponsored the signing of a cooperation agreement at his office in the Emirate headquarters between the regional branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and Gharas Holding Company. The agreement aims to support environmental efforts and enhance the development of vegetation cover in the region. His Royal Highness, the Governor of Al-Qassim Region, welcomed the signing of the agreement, emphasizing the importance of integrating efforts between government entities and the private sector to achieve the goals of environmental initiatives. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening national efforts aimed at developing vegetation cover and achieving environmental sustainability, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative. The agreement was signed on behalf of the regional branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture by Eng. Salman Al-Suwain, Director General of the branch, while Mohammed Al-Shammari represented Gharas Holding Company. Eng. During the meeting, His Royal Highness launched the National Committee’s campaign titled (White Fund)” and was briefed on its objectives, which focus on economically, socially, and psychologically empowering prisoners, released individuals, and their families through a comprehensive package of integrated rehabilitation programs. The campaign also aims to promote the culture of developmental charitable endowments and achieve financial sustainability to support care and rehabilitation programs, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 for sustainable development. The Governor of Al-Qassim Region affirmed that the qualitative programs provided by the “Tarahum” Committee reflect its important humanitarian and social role in caring for prisoners, released individuals, and their families, and in enabling their positive reintegration into society.
